Bupa Cromwell Hospital surgeons Naresh Joshi, David Dunaway, Neil Kitchen, Andy Williams, and Peter Clarke were featured in this Saturday’s Times magazine recognising Britain’s top surgeons.
-
Top plastic surgeon Naresh Joshi was featured for his reconstructive work on model and TV presenter Katie Piper who was disfigured when an ex-boyfriend threw acid in her face in 2008. Thanks to his work, she is now able to drive and work again.
-
Neurosurgeon David Dunaway was recognised for his work with non-profit organisation Facing the World, which treats children with severe facial disfigurement from developing countries. The article focused on his surgery to separate conjoined twins from Sudan.
-
Neil Kitchen is lead neurosurgeon for neuro-oncology at Britain’s first dedicated brain-tumour unit and sits on the Medical Advisory Board of the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association UK.
-
Andy Williams was highlighted for his work not just as an exceptional orthopaedic surgeon, but his ability to help his patients, including England’s ex-rugby caption, Lawrence Dallaglio, deal with the psychological fallout of an injury.
-
Specialist neck surgeon, Peter Clarke, was also noted for his work with Facing the World and his work in surgical voice restoration, skull-base surgery and neck dissection.
