The Telegraph, 18 October 2010
Ground-breaking cancer treatment at the hospital was highlighted in a recent ad feature in The Telegraph. The article featured the treatment of Nikki Culleton who was diagnosed with a rare cancer in her eye and underwent surgery and radiotherapy at Bupa Cromwell.
Nikki had TomoTherapy treatment under her consultant, Dr Nick Plowman, senior clinical oncologist at Bupa Cromwell Hospital. This form of radiotherapy is one of the most modern treatments available and enabled all the cancerous cells to be killed off without damaging her eye. If the tumour had been treated conventionally Nikki would have lost her sight in that eye.
The article also looks at Bupa Cromwell’s Gamma Knife treatment, the specialist oncology nursing and support services including physiotherapy, counselling, occupational and complementary therapies.
