Cancer brings about many changes in a person's life, emotional as well as physical. We offer counselling as an important means of support for you and your family. Our qualified oncology counsellor, Helen Storey, is very experienced in the field of cancer counselling.
Lymphoedema management requires specialist intervention and our dedicated therapy staff provide a personalised care plan for each patient. The innovative approach we take ensures we remain at the forefront of current developments in the management of lymphoedema.
Complimentary massage sessions
As part of your treatment plan, we are pleased to offer massage sessions compliments of Bupa Cromwell Hospital. Massage can be helpful for people undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy to relax, alleviate tension and stress, and improve body comfort.
Macmillan palliative care nurse
Paul Everett, our clinical nurse specialist in palliative medicine can offer advice and help with pain and symptom management. He can also help you with long-term support arrangements and referrals to community teams.
Physiotherapy and occupational therapy
We have a specialist oncology physiotherapist available for both inpatient and outpatient appointments. Rehabilitation programmes are tailored to suit individual needs by the appropriate specialist therapist and are available at any stage of your cancer treatment and recovery.
Our occupational therapists can assess the home environment to ensure a smooth transition from the hospital to the home. Additionally they can assist in organising care in the community should this be required.
Cancer Pain Clinic
If suffering from pain caused by the disease itself or resulting from surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy, a number of different techniques are available to effectively relieve this. We take a detailed history of the pain problem and associated medical conditions before offering an opinion as to its cause and recommending a treatment plan.
