Conditions we treat include:
- anaemia
- bone marrow failure syndromes and malignancies such as multiple myeloma
- haemaphilia and other disorders which disturb the balance of factors that promote coagulation resulting in an increased tendency to bleeding, or factors that predispose to thrombosis
- haemoglobin production disorders
- leukaemia, which can be either acute or chronic
- lymphoid tissue conditions including Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkins lymphomas
- thalassaemia and sickle cell disease.
Management of haematological conditions requires expertise and bedside management, use of specialised laboratory investigations and special treatment specific to each haematological condition. There are also many diseases and treatments that can affect the normal steady state of the blood and its constituents that require specialist attention.
