What does paediatric occupational therapy involve?

Full assessment

An initial assessment session uses fun activities and toys to help explore your child’s aptitudes and skills, and to understand their needs. Parents are encouraged to take an active role to make the process inclusive and fun.

Following the assessment – helping your child develop

We will prepare a personalised treatment plan. This will include helping you develop skills to support your child, with activities at home, and at nursery or school.

Individual sessions for you and your child are led by a specialist paediatric occupational therapist, using carefully selected activities which are always meaningful and enjoyable.

We can provide specialist equipment from writing and feeding aids, splints and pressure garments through to postural solutions. These may include manual and powered wheel chairs and other seating systems such as, specialised buggies and chairs, plus manual handling equipment.

Access to treatment

We accept referrals from the child’s parents, GP, paediatrician or school.
