Surgeons operating at Bupa Cromwell Hospital

10 December 2011

Bupa Cromwell Hospital surgeons Naresh Joshi, David Dunaway, Neil Kitchen, Andy Williams, and Peter Clarke were featured in this Saturday’s Times magazine recognising Britain’s top surgeons.

  • Top plastic surgeon Naresh Joshi was featured for his reconstructive work on model and TV presenter Katie Piper who was disfigured when an ex-boyfriend threw acid in her face in 2008. Thanks to his work, she is now able to drive and work again.

  • Neurosurgeon David Dunaway was recognised for his work with non-profit organisation Facing the World, which treats children with severe facial disfigurement from developing countries. The article focused on his surgery to separate conjoined twins from Sudan.

  • Neil Kitchen is lead neurosurgeon for neuro-oncology at Britain’s first dedicated brain-tumour unit and sits on the Medical Advisory Board of the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association UK.

  • Andy Williams was highlighted for his work not just as an exceptional orthopaedic surgeon, but his ability to help his patients, including England’s ex-rugby caption, Lawrence Dallaglio, deal with the psychological fallout of an injury.

  • Specialist neck surgeon, Peter Clarke, was also noted for his work with Facing the World and his work in surgical voice restoration, skull-base surgery and neck dissection.
