Background Information

Mr Amin's areas of specialist interest include all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, as well as post-traumatic reconstruction. 
Mr Amin has undertaken national and international fellowship training in Stanmore, Seattle, Baltimore and Toronto.  He was awarded the prestigious British Foot and Ankle Society travelling fellowship, which he undertook with Dr Mark Myerson in Baltimore, USA.  These interactions have developed subspecialist skills, international connections and friends across the globe. 
Mr Amin is also fellowship trained (Liverpool) in complex trauma and deformity correction using the Ilizarov frame. He regularly treats severely injured patients presenting to St. George's Hospital, which functions as a Major Trauma Centre. 
Mr Amin is actively involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate education, and is on the faculty of a number of instructional courses.  He has over 20 peer-reviewed publications and his current research focuses on ankle fractures, big toe arthritis, ankle arthritis and the achilles tendon. 
Mr Amin's practice is dedicated solely to foot and ankle pathology, which allows him to deal with complex problems and offer second opinions.  He has a specialist interest in ankle replacement surgery and is one of a select few surgeons that has been formally trained in this surgery.
