Dr Wiseman qualified from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, and went on to obtain postgraduate experience in accident and emergency, general medicine, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, and psychiatry, as well as postgraduate qualifications in general practice and homeopathy. Before entering private practice, he was a partner in an NHS academic teaching practice for ten years and was actively involved in undergraduate teaching and GP training. He joined Palace Gate Practice in 1999.
Dr Wiseman is the past Chairman of the GP Committee of The Independent Doctors Federation and provides medical advisory support to several embassies and companies. He is Chairman of a Medical Advisory Committee. He is married with two daughters and lives in Kensington.
