Angiograms are tests that are used to diagnose certain heart conditions.
During an angiogram, your doctor will thread a catheter into the artery in your wrist or groin, and guide it up the artery and into your heart. The doctor will then inject a dye into the catheter, and use X-rays to see how the dye flows through your arteries and your heart.
Angiograms are carried out under local anaesthetic, which makes the procedure pain-free. You may also be given a sedative too, to help you to relax.
