Skyline - our Children and Young People’s Department – offers expert care in a calm and safe environment.
The children-only ward and outpatient department provide a wide range of specialist care for children and young people aged 0-18 years old. Appointments at Skyline’s outpatient department are available six days a week and it has its own separate entrance at the hospital.
Skyline is supported by leading consultants from London’s top teaching hospitals as well as a multidisciplinary team including highly-skilled paediatric nurses, physiotherapists, dietitians, speech and language therapists and play specialists.
A resident consultant paediatric intensivist is on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week dedicated to children and young people who need high-level care around the clock.
As part of our admissions assessment we are careful to only admit children to our Skyline Ward when we are sure we can safely meet their needs. As the only private paediatric department which has a resident consultant paediatric intensivist we are confident that, if any of our young patients require, our high level clinicians will be able to stabilise the child quickly and decide the most appropriate place for their ongoing care.
Given we do not have a paediatric intensive care unit (PICU) on-site we may need to transfer the child to a PICU at another hospital including the NHS. For your reassurance, having a high level senior clinician on-site rather than on-call ensures your child is safe and immediately attended to.
