Expert-led care and support for the quick assessment, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
At Bupa Cromwell Hospital, our breast care service is led by expert breast consultants and supported by a dedicated breast clinical nurse specialist.
We offer a full pathway for the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer and other breast conditions.
So if you are worried about breast symptoms, our rapid diagnostic service can arrange an appointment with a breast consultant within days. You can then expect a consultation, mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy (if required) all to take place on the same day to give you a quick diagnosis.
Our breast multidisciplinary team meets fortnightly to discuss each breast cancer diagnosis. This means all breast cancer cases are reviewed by a whole team of experts to ensure the best possible treatment and care. The breast multidisciplinary team is led by Prof Robert Leonard, Consultant Medical Oncologist.
You don’t have to have Bupa medical insurance to be treated at the Cromwell. We’re recognised by all major private medical insurers and offer a range of self-pay options.
Bupa Specialist Centre for breast cancer
We are a Bupa Specialist Centre for breast cancer. This means, if you have Bupa UK Insurance you can have an appointment with a consultant within two working days of calling Bupa's Cancer Direct Access service. And you don't need a GP referral.
All initial diagnostic tests are done in one appointment. If you need treatment, it will be provided within 31 days of calling for the first appointment – less than half the time set out in national targets.
"We understand that waiting to find out whether symptoms are cancerous is very stressful and through our specialist centre we are able to offer all initial diagnostics in one appointment, so that our patients get the all-clear or a diagnosis and access to treatment as soon as possible."'
Mr Giles Davies, Director of Breast Surgery
