Liver and Gastrointestinal Centre

Liver and Gastro-intestinal Centre

At Bupa Cromwell Hospital, our expert team treat a wide range of patients in our state-of-the-art operating and treatment facilities. We treat a wide range of liver and gastrointestinal conditions, including cancers.

Our liver, colorectal and hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) surgeons are leaders in their fields, as are our Hepatologists (liver specialists) and the Clinical Oncologists connected to our world-renowned Cancer Centre.

How are Liver and Gastrointestinal conditions treated?

Viral Hepatitis, Hepatitis B & Hepatitis C treatment

The diagnosis of hepatitis B or hepatitis C can be distressing, but we offer full investigation and treatment. New treatments for viral hepatitis and hepatitis C offer greatly improved cure rates, and oral therapy for patients with Hepatitis B is now well established as the most effective treatment.

Complex liver disease treatment

With 24-hour specialist medical officers and critical care support, the centre can deal with all liver emergencies, from acute liver failure to hepato-renal failure and complications of decompensated liver disease, including variceal bleeding.

A full range of diagnostic tests are available and results are turned around quickly. The hospital is the only hospital to offer access to both albumin dialysis and MARS therapy.

Hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery (HPB)

HPB surgery is surgery of the liver, pancreas and biliary tract.
