Nursing care

From the moment you meet one of our nurses, as either an outpatient or inpatient, you know you are in good hands.

Putting patients and families first

Bupa Cromwell Hospital nurses put patients and families first which means:

  • treating and caring for all patients and their family members as individuals

  • anticipating  health and care needs

  • showing genuine care and finding everyday improvements to make life better

  • embracing diversity in gender, culture, age, and religion

Developing nursing practice

All our nurses are encouraged to undertake continuing professional development during their careers at Bupa Cromwell Hospital. This can be a mix of formal learning, work experience, workshops and on-the-job learning under the supervision of a manager or lead nurse.

Respecting religious and individual sensitivities

Bupa Cromwell Hospital is a leading London private hospital and attracts patients from around the world. We train our nurses to be sensitive to the many different ways in which patients wish to be treated regarding their cultural, religious and personal preferences. This can include patients requesting to be treated by nurses of the same gender as themselves.

Communicating with patients effectively

Many of our nurses are multilingual reflecting the multinational nature of our patients. All our patients who do not have English as a first language have access to interpreters from our International Patient Centre.

Hourly visits to in-patients

We aim to never keep our patients waiting, so nurses make hourly visits to each room throughout the day to make sure patients are comfortable and have everything they need.

Patient feedback

Before leaving hospital, in-patients are asked to complete a questionnaire to give comments on their experiences of all the services provided by Bupa Cromwell Hospital, including nursing. Go to our comments and complaints page for information on giving feedback.
