Oral and maxillofacial surgery

Diagnosing and treating conditions and injuries of the head, neck, face and jaw in adults and children.

Overview

Our oral and maxillofacial surgeons work with orthodontists, dental surgeons, plastic surgeons, audiologists and ear, nose and throat (ENT) consultants to provide a comprehensive service.

They also work as part of multidisciplinary teams to manage and treat complex cases such as cancer. Maxillofacial surgeons can take biopsies to check for oral cancer or pre-cancerous conditions, and reconstruct the area after a tumour has been removed.

All of our surgeons work with the paediatric department to treat children's conditions of the face, head and jaw.
